Take a Class and Learn Something New
with Your Friends at Great Balls of YARN!
We've created a new and exciting menu of project-based classes just for you! We hope you're inspired by our new projects; many of which are super easy once you get the hang of it! Learn a new technique and broaden your knowledge all while making new friends who share the same interests as you! Most classes are $35, plus the cost of materials, except where noted. Some classes require "homework" and those are noted as well. As always, we are happy to schedule private instruction around your schedule. Private classes are $30 an hour and many people find those to be most beneficial when you make a "hit list" of what you want to learn. We're here to help and inspire you, so please, if you have any questions, just ask!

Class Descriptions:

Beginning Knit
Never Knit Before? This is the class for you! You will learn to cast-on and the Knit stitch. With these two tools you are well are you way to making a wide assortment of knitted items. A scarf pattern is part of the package. (1 hour class)

Beginning Crochet
Never Crocheted before? This is your class! You will learn to make a foundation chain and the single crochet stitch. With these two skills you can make a wide assortment of crochet items. A scarf pattern will be given out for practice. (1 hour class)

	STAINED GLASS KNITTING Yes! You can do this! Stained glass knitting is a form of intarsia that's a wonderful way to use hand-dyed and long-colorwayed yarns. In this class we de-mystify the technique and you will learn to create a fabric that is a colorful and unique template for a multitude of projects.
	DIAMOND KNITTING Learn a new technique that makes a most unusual fabric and uses up your stash at the same time! This fun process embraces color coordination and intarsia to create a faux argyle. It's not as hard as you think! We will break it down into easy steps and give you project ideas that will showcase Diamond Knitting in its best light.
	DECORATIVE CROCHETED BORDERS & TRIMS Ever wanted to make a blanket super special? Or, did you neglect to knit a gauge then need to lengthen a sweater? Don’t rip it...fix it with a festive crochet edge! In this class you’ll learn a few classic crochet trims that will become your signature. A basic understanding of crochet will make this more advanced class a fun experience for you!
ENTRELAC MADE EASY! The woven fabric of Entrelac looks so complicated, but we make it easy. You’ll love this short-needle technique that’s ideal for many uses. Dazzle your friends with all the unusual projects you can make after learning this skill! Look at this gorgeous scarf that you will know how to make! GREAT BALLS & SQUIGGLES SCARF This will be our most unusual scarf this season! Using Pagewood Farms' Giant Purls, we embellished this funky muffler with squiggles. We’ll also share other embellishment techniques with you in this class as well. (Purchase of Giant Purls yarn is necessary to participate in this class.) AFRICAN ADVENTURE AFGHAN/TABLE RUNNER Check out this amazing collection of color! If you can knit, you can tackle this exciting and fun class to make your own African Adventure Throw or decorative table runner. A terrific way to use up your stash!
	BABY BOOTIES & HATS! Baby booties and hats are a great way to graduate from the simple scarf. Made in micro-version, you take the same premise and apply it to larger size hats and socks! This is a three hour class and tuition is $45.
	BABY BOBBLE HATS! Whimsy and fun! The only thing that can hold you back is your own imagination! In this class you will learn to work in the round and we also cover basic intarsia knitting, as well as creative ways to embellish your hat. These make fast and fun gifts for kiddies!
	KNITTED STUFFED TOYS Dive Under the Sea! These adorable stuffed toys will delight the little ones in your life! Perfect for baby shower or holiday gifts!
ARAN KNITTING Treat yourself to an Irish tradition with our Aran Knitting class. While cables look complex, it’s surprisingly easy. After taking this you’ll confidently be able to tackle charts and master different cables over various stitch patterns. We recommend this to students who’ve completed Advanced Beginners. LACE SCARF Ever wanted to learn lace knitting but shied away due to fear of yarn-overs? Well, we make lace easy in this basic lace scarf class. Working with a limited repeat, you’ll learn how to “read your needle” as well as a basic lace chart. We’ll give you line by line direction so you can create this beautiful heirloom quality scarf.
